Oh yes, okay now I know what you mean Jan.  Here in British Columbia or at least on Vancouver Island the food stores are going away from plastic totally ... it will not be long now until we have to have re-usable shopping bags along with us when we shop which I think is a great idea.

Like the use you make of the zippered one for your "amusements".  Excellent! - especially if it finds under the dinette seat.  Also if it accidentally gets left outside everything is protected from condensation and who knows what else.

I am a big fan or so it seems of those rubbermaid type containers.  I have several each for their own special purpose including storage for toys after a busy day with grandchildren.  Quick and easy clean up and everything is out of sight and out of mind until their next "attack", lol.

Talk to you soon.

I looked up the bags to take the frozens home, and they are called chiller or cooler bags...... (if I'd been thinking I would have come up with that).
Here are the pics off the internet....

This one with a zipper round the top is the one we use for the frozens.

One like this, also with zipper, Barry bought me to take all my amusements, my novels, knitting, crossword book, writing paper etc etc away on trips. It slips under the (dinette) seat at the back of the motorhome, very handy for me to get at everything I want. Our clothes go in overhead lockers.

Thanks for the info, Sharron.  I've never considered reading Gone With The Wind.  Is it heavy reading I wonder?  I've seen the film and really enjoyed it, but wonder whether I would enjoy the book as much.

Barb how wonderful to hear from you and how nice that you are enjoying such quality time outdoors and reading etc.

Rhett Buttler's People sounds like a very interesting book.  I remember reading Gone With the Wind and I have watched the movie several times ... it is in my opinion anyway a classic.

Look forward to hearing from you soon and take good care of those strawberries.

Love,
Sharon

Jan ... I am so thrilled to hear that your ankle is so much better.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I would love to hear more about these fabric type containers that people take their frozen food home from the supermarket in.

We will miss you!

Louise here is some cat repellent ideas perhaps that you may not have tried ....

crushed red pepper

pine cones

ground up orange peels

white vinegar

You might need to "refresh" the area regulary, say every few days to remain effective in keeping the cats away.

I am glad you came in from the yard and playing with Marley to say hello, Barb.  Glad all going well with you.
I have never read "Gone with the Wind", but it often gets a mention.
Perhaps you could take a pic of the strawberries when they are ready to pick!! It sounds so nice.
Thanks for the good wishes for the weekend... I'm just charging up the camera batteries, so hope I get some pics.
Hugs ~ Jan

Hello Everyone
I haven't posted any lately. I have been busy doing yard work, playing ball with Marley and reading. I have all my books read but one. I haven't read Rhett Buttler's People yet. The grand daughters tell me to read Gone with the Wind again before I read it. It was along time ago that i read Gone with the Wind.
Don't have my garden in yet as our friend with the tiller has not had time to come over and till it for me. Hope he gets here soon. My strawberries are in bloom should have some the first of June.
Jan hope you have a great week-end away. Hope everyone has a great week-end planned.

Hi everyone, I'm reading about nice weather going into summer for some
people, so hope you are enjoying the weather where you are!!  We are
going into winter, and the mornings have been a little cooler, and some
places I've been this week there has been a sneaky westerly  breeze,
and I've been caught out as our front patio and deck are lovely and
warm with the sun and sheltered from the west.

This week I've been to exercise class twice and walking once, and my
ankle is much better, I can break into a little run now, so looks like
my doc was on the ball when he said I would fully recover, and would
not have to limp. Must admit I was pretty convinced I would be limping
for the rest of my life at one stage.

Here we are, it's 3.30pm on Thursday 14th May and we are getting
organised to go away with the motorhome club tomorrow morning around 8.30am, just for
the weekend, this time to a Caravan Park on the river near the coast.
We are going to have a powered site as Barry is taking his new Fender.
We are totally self sufficient usually, with solar panels and a small
inverter... but there is power there, so we will use it.  We are also
going to try out the TV on the computer, and that will be better with
power.

I like playing disc bowls and the rest of the time there is a lot of
sitting and chatting so I can get some knitting done. I always pack my
'amuse myself' bit and pieces first, they are the most important to me,
I check that I still have some crosswords left in my book, and put in a
couple of library books, though I am well into  "Breaking the Spell" by
Jane Stork. I will keep the rest for the weekend. I am also working on
the knitted edgings for the handtowells, and a bit of other knitting.
A few weeks back Barry bought me one of the fabric type containers that
people take their frozen foods home from the supermarket in, with a
zipper around the top and it is just right for my bits and pieces. It
is slightly larger than the one we actually use for our frozens on
shopping days.

So we will be away for 3 days, starting about 17 hours from now.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend,
Hugs ~ Jan

We didn't have cats around here until the current people moved in next door. We used to have little blue wrens hopping around on the lawn, and it was so heartwarming to see them,  but we never see any now, can only presume they have been eaten.

Have a lovely day everyone... I've got Bible Study this morning with a lovely group of ladies, and I see some of them at my exercise class too.

Hugs ~ Jan

I know what you mean about the cats Jan.  There's loads of ferrel cats round my way & quite frankly, they make my garden stink.  I don't know what to do to stop them getting in.  I've tried all different kinds of 'cat repelent' things like pellets what you scatter round the garden, but they still come in.

Re me not being fond of cats: really it's not the cats I don't like, it's some cat owner's lack of responsibility that puts me off... allowing them to wander around all the time and get into fights at night, especially under our house.

Yes it is very entertaining.

I know you are not so fond of cats Jan but Princess "R" and I spent part of Mothers Day doing some garage sale treasure hunting and we got a beautiful tent for our cat Sammy .... I am not sure she likes it though but it is really a nice tent.  All padded and so soft.  The lining is leopard print.  I do not think it has been used at all and best of it was FREE.  I got a lot of nice stuff for free on Sunday -- Rebekah must of been my lucky charm.

That is a lovely little show, Sharon, a big thank you to Dorothy for sending it.... though I am off cats at the moment. They have a few next door that come over and use my vege garden as a toilet and fight under our house at night.

Hugs ~ Jan.

Haha, that's so cool Sharron.  So good isn't it how the cat jumps of and on the painting?  Really lovely.
